Venezuela

Venezuela is integration, good humor, and energy. The country, in which around 29 million people live, shares borders with Colombia, Brazil, and Guyana by land. Its 3,000 kilometers of coastline are bathed by the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, where its more than 300 islands are located.

The region is also «desert, jungle, snow and volcano», as Luis Silva sings in the song «Venezuela.» Its natural landscape is one of the great riches of the country: the El Ávila mountain or the Orinoco river are two examples. El Ávila is located in the capital, Caracas, and is the protagonist of countless myths that have been told and spread throughout its millennial life. The same happens with the Orinoco River, which, in addition to being home to a large number of species of flora and fauna, appears in numerous legends.

Although musically it is also a varied country, llanera music is traditional. It is accompanied by the joropo, the dance, which is danced with espadrilles and is accompanied by instruments such as the cuatro, the harp, or the maracas.

Its gastronomy is the result of the cultural mix between Europe, Africa, and the indigenous Venezuelans. It is influenced by Mediterranean cuisine. Among its dishes, the arepa stands out, which is made from corn, and the Creole pavilion considered a national dish, which has variants depending on the region.
