Guatemala, también conocido como el corazón del mundo maya, es historia, naturaleza y contraste entre la historia indígena y la contemporánea.

Ubicado en Centroamérica, comparte fronteras con México, Honduras, El Salvador y Belice. Por mar limita con el mar Caribe y en el Océano Pacífico, donde tiene más de 300 kilómetros de costa.

Sus visitantes pueden conocer y descubrir cuáles son los elementos que conforman las culturas y tradiciones garífunas, xinkas y mayas. El parque nacional Tikal, que alberga los restos de la ciudad más grande de los mayas, fue declarado Patrimonio Cultural y Natural de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 1979.

Su naturaleza ofrece la oportunidad de practicar un gran número de actividades (rapel, tirolina, rafting o ciclismo) y también se pueden visitar sus más de 300 conos volcánicos y 37 volcanes, 3 de ellos activos. Observar su fauna es otro de los imprescindibles, sobre todo la ballena jorobada y los delfines.

La gastronomía guatemalteca es el resultado de la multiculturalidad, con recuerdos de la cocina maya y la influencia española. Incluso, algunos platos han sido declarados Patrimonio Cultural de la Nación: el jocón de carne de gallina, el kaq’ik, el pepián y los plátanos en mole.

You can also tour volcanoes through its more than 300 volcanic cones and 37 volcanoes, three of them active. Observing its fauna is another of the essentials, especially to see the humpback whale or different species of dolphins.

 Guatemalan gastronomy, how could it be otherwise, is the result of the multiculturalism of the country, which offers different dishes depending on the region. Its cuisine has touches of Mayan cuisine and has a Spanish influence. There are some dishes that have been declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation: chicken meat jocón, kaq’ik, pepián, and plantains in mole.
